A 3D course map on your race page
Runners can spin the course, scrub the elevation profile, see every climb and fly the route. It takes one line of code and there is nothing to install.
GPX, KML, TCX or GeoJSON. The route goes into the embed code; the file stays on your computer. How to export one.
Add water, aid and more by distance, up to 10 of each. They show on the map with their own icons.
Paste it into any page that accepts HTML: WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow or your own site.
Live preview. The map works on phones, and the Open full map link goes to the full version. Embeds are free.
Your own course
Choose your course file
Use Choose a course file above with a GPX, KML, TCX or GeoJSON file. It stays in your browser; the route travels inside the embed code.
Copy the code
Check the preview, pick units and height, then copy. The map's Share box gives the same code for any course you open there.
Paste it on your site
One line of HTML, free. To change the course, make a new code from the new file.
How to get your course file
Any GPX, KML, TCX or GeoJSON file of the route works. Most apps export one in a few clicks, but only from their website: the phone apps usually cannot. A recorded run of the course works too, as long as it follows the route.
Strava
A route you made: open it on strava.com, then choose Export GPX.
A run you recorded: open the activity on strava.com, click the ... menu on the left, then Export GPX.
Strava only exports your own routes and activities.
Garmin Connect
A course: on connect.garmin.com go to Training and Planning, then Courses. Open the course and choose Export (GPX).
A run you recorded: open the activity, click the gear icon at the top right, then Export to GPX.
Ride with GPS
Open the route on ridewithgps.com, click Export, and choose GPX Track.
Google Earth
Google Earth on the web: open your project, click its ... menu, then Export as KML file.
Google Earth Pro: right-click the path in the Places list, choose Save Place As, and save it as KML.
Google My Maps
Open the map, click the ... menu next to its title, choose Export to KML/KMZ, and tick Export to a .KML file instead of KMZ.
Komoot
Open the tour on komoot.com, click the ... menu, then Download GPX.
No file at all?
Draw it: on the map, click the pencil button (Draw) at the top and tap along the route; the line follows the roads and trails. You can trace over a picture of your course map, too. Or email us the course map and we will build the file for you.
Organize a race?
Send us the official file and we will add your course to the catalog, marked as the official route.
